Top 4 Moments from IIA GAM and SAPinsider GRC 2016
March may mean Madness across the country for college basketball fans, but for us here at ERP Maestro it’s a different kind of crazy with two back-to-back conference appearances. In the last two weeks, we had a great time in Dallas for the IIA General Audit Management (GAM) conference and won big in Vegas at SAPinsider GRC & Financials. Here’s a recap of the highlights and fun…
1. Face Time is the Best Time
At both events we had the opportunity to interact with lots of new and repeat visitors wanting to learn more about our solution. Were the repeat visitors REALLY there to get a demo or was it the cupcakes and cookies that kept drawing them in? Regardless, it was clear that once they did see those beautiful, colorful reports plenty of eyes lit up. Poor Zach, one of our Solution Engineers a.k.a. Demo Dude, hardly got a break to have a proper lunch in between the many requests to see our tool in action.
Didn’t get a chance to attend these events or stop by our booth? Easy – check out our recorded demo videos here.
2. Show and Tell with FARO Technologies
Our CEO Jody Paterson led a breakout session at GRC on how cloud computing helps organizations reach complete access control automation in a flexible, cost-effective, and value-added way. Alongside Jody, we were excited to have our client, Edgar Suris of FARO Technologies, share his experience with implementing and using Access Analyzer. He shared how FARO was implementing SAP and needed to clean up and re-design security roles before going live, as well as get an understanding of risk related to segregation of duties (SoD) and sensitive access. Ultimately, after the smooth and quick implementation process, Access Analyzer helped Edgar and his team not only with a clean rollout of SAP, but even pass their subsequent audit with no SoD-related findings. More on this story coming soon!
3. Bringing out the Internal Control Freaks in All of Us
While the delicious, popular cupcakes made a comeback this year (dark chocolate was by far, again, the favorite) we also added new “Audit Hero” sugar cookies to the mix to satisfy sweet cravings in between sessions. But the real star of the show is something everyone was able to take home with them – our exclusive “Internal Control Freak” t-shirts! Attendees grabbed them in multiples not just for themselves, but their colleagues back at the office. Some proudly took photos with the shirts on and even went so far as to “broaden” the message of the shirt…just goes to show that there is a “freak” in all of us 😉
If you want to get your internal control freak on, get a free “Internal Control Freak” t-shirt from us.
4. Winner, Winner (much better than a chicken dinner)
We had some awesome prizes to give away at our March events, including two GoPro HERO cameras and a Hoverboard. After the events, we did a random drawing and selected the following three winners of those prizes. Congratulations to all the winners!
- Wan Kin “Frankie” Wong, Belden, Inc. – GoPro HERO Camera (IIA GAM)
- Craig Pedersen, Hunter Douglas – GoPro HERO Camera (SAPinsider GRC & Financials)
- Ranjit Prithviraj, Fitch Ratings – Hoverboard (SAPinsider GRC & Financials)
Overall, we had a great time at both events meeting with people and talking about how we can help them become the heroes of their next audit. Thank you to those who stopped to see us. We hope to see you this May in Orlando at the SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference and other conferences we’re attending this year!
